So Spring Break is upon us, which means less than 90 days to go! We are in the homestretch of planning and I dont think it could be going better. However, we do have some updates that have slipped by us.
First, for those who received an invitation, no you weren't crazy there is no time listed. We would like guests to arrive at the venue between 6:00pm-6:15 pm. This will give you a chance to sign in, find a seat and get some water. The ceremony will begin at 6:30pm and the reception is immediately following in the same location. If you have any other questions please feel free to call the number on the invitation and we will be happy to get you any information you need.
Second, Bess and I will not be registering for gifts. For the past year, we have been living together and have accumulated everything we need to live comfortably. Also, we will soon be moving for graduate school and we will not be able to take any more than the bare necessities. We know that this is not common, but this is a celebration for love and family so gifts are not our priority.
On another note, Bess and I are doing well and we are anxiously awaiting the big day.
Well, that is all for now.
Love,
Marcia and Bess

...because I'm leavin' on a jet plane
Hello All! Forgive me for keeping this post short and sweet but I want to give everyone an update.
Today, Bess will be flying to the University of Illinois for a Welcome Weekend hosted by the Department of Communication. She will be meeting with other prospective students, current students, faculty and staff for two glorious days. If you are wondering, the answer is...no, no decision has been made on where Bess will be attending Graduate School. This trip will be an opportunity for her to learn more about the program and the University of Illinois.
Some exciting new, this past Tuesday, we found out that Bess has also been awarded the Graduate College Fellowship for her first academic year of Masters study at the University of Illinois. I am so proud of her and everything she has accomplished…and she hasn’t even started Graduate School yet! Great things are happening!
We hope to announce where Bess will be attending school within a week. All of the constant love and support is something we cherish and appreciate every day!
In other news, I received notification yesterday that I have been admitted to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee! I am so excited but I have one more school to hear from (next week) before I make any formal decision.
In wedding news, Bess and I have hired TreeHouse Wedding Studio, Southern Charm Cakery and Blooming Accents for the Big Day! We are so thrilled to find such amazing vendors who are going to make this day so memorable. Tomorrow I will begin the task of shopping for that white dress, so lucky to have my MOH to help me out! We are less than 90 days from the Big Day and everything is coming together beautifully.
We love you all!
Keep your eyes out for the Graduate School updates!

Better late than never!
Well, here we are...11 months later.
Bess and I are happy to announce we are healthy and doing amazing (academically and professionally). In July 2011, we moved into our first apartment in Arlington. We will sadly be leaving the complex over the summer to begin another new adventure. Over the autumn months, we both began the challenging task of applying to Graduate School. In summation, the task consumed our lives and we survived! In November I traveled to Seattle for a Preview Day at the University of Washington and it was one of the best experiences of my life. Needless to say traveling alone to a city you have never been to can be a little challenging but I would like to think it was a great independent moment for me. In January of 2012, Bess began her final semester as an Undergraduate at UT Arlington and she will be graduating with a second degree, a Bachelor of Arts in Communications with an emphasis in Organizational Communications, in May. So I think I have caught you up on everything that has happened since April of 2011, now onto some more great news!
Bess has been accepted as a Master of Arts in Communication student at two top universities. The first came from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the second from the University of Texas - Austin. Not only was she admitted but both schools have offered assistantships, tuition waivers, stipends, etc. That is right folks...oh and she is still waiting to hear from three more schools. It has been a very exciting time in our lives and she is ready to begin the next step in her academic journey.
As I mentioned earlier, Bess and I both struggled through the task of application after application. Luckily, not only did it pay off for Bess but I also received an acceptance letter...yesterday. I have been admitted to Texas Woman's University as a Masters student in the School of Library and Information Science. Lucky for me, all of the programs I applied to are 100% online and can be completed in any part of the country.
In wedding news...
After months of planning, Bess and I have decided to get married on June 3, 2012. It will be a small intimate ceremony for our close family and friends (that we consider family) in a beautiful courtyard in Arlington. We are still in the process of planning out every detail but we are so excited that we will share this moment with the people we love. I am going to update any and all information that guests may need, from hotels, food and our registry. We are so excited and cannot believe that the days are going by so quickly!
We love you all and are so grateful for your continued support!

Breaking Ground
Hello all!
Well, I feel like getting on a more scheduled basis of writing will help keep everyone up to date on the going's on of me and Bess.
So yesterday was the first step to the beginning of our soon to be "married" life.
We are proud to announce that as of July 1, 2011 we will be residing in Our First Home. The new home is a 653 square foot apartment home in the center of Arlington, Texas. The apartment community is so beautiful and will give us a great place to start our new life . I don't think that I could put into words the excitement that we feel about this next step in our life. It is so hard to believe that we have been engaged for almost 4 months and things are moving along beautifully.
There are so many amazing things to look forward to over the next few months.
I graduate with my second Bachelor's Degree on May 15th.
We sign our apartment lease on May 20th.
We move on July 1st.
Bess will graduate with her second degree on December 18th.
Now, I know that many of you are anxiously awaiting which day we will choose for THE BIG DAY. However, don't worry too much the day is coming quickly. We hope to OFFICIALLY announce the day for our wedding by the end of May. Don't worry it will be ample notice and we will keep you informed of all the fun planning that will be coming along with the big day!
I wish there were a million more things I could share but we are still in the "deciding" process so, when we know, you will know.
Until then, Bess and I wish all of you a very Happy Easter with your family.
Sending our love!!
Bess and Marcia

Spring Break 2011
Long time no see! Yes, I realize that it has been quite a bit of time since anyone has heard from us. No worries, we have been very busy with school, work, and traveling. Bess and I have so many big things happening in our lives over the next few weeks and we cannot wait to share those with everyone.
For now though we would like to share one of the most recent adventures we had over Spring Break. On March 11, Bess and I embarked on a journey of over 3000 miles (round-trip) to Los Angeles, California. It was one of the best times of our lives and we want to share it with everyone.
Enjoy!

Thanksgiving
Another entry from Bess.
"Thank you.
Thank you for visiting today. Thank you for being supportive. Thank you for sharing in our excitement. I cannot adequately articulate how much these things mean to both Marcia and me. A comment or "like." A smile or wave. Congratulatory words. It is these small efforts that make a world of difference in our currently hectic lives.
It has been a busy week since Marcia's last post. Since then, I caught a nasty cold and managed to get both Kent and Marcia sick. (I'm so sorry!) The three of us were also stuck in an elevator at our apartment complex for the better part of an hour- it made for some good bonding time. Note to self- never, and I mean never, get into an elevator with Kent. :-) Last week was also the first week of the Spring 2011 semester where I work and attend classes. Marcia completed the last class of her undergraduate career this winter and is now working full time until her graduation in May. (I am so proud of her commitment to her education.) Our days are long and our time together is too short. Nevertheless, we remain excited about the upcoming festivities.
Marcia has been diligently researching florists, cake bakers, photographers, and about a million other things in preparation for our big day. We will be sure to update you out there in the cyber-land about how the various appointments go. (It's no secret that I'm particularly excited about the upcoming cake tastings!) We are also nailing down a date with the Belltower Chapel in Fort Worth; their flexibility has been much appreciated! An announcement will hopefully come sooner rather than later.
My point is (and I do have one) I am so blessed. It is my privilege to come home to Marcia everyday. I am continuing my education my alma mater, have great job, a roof over my head, my health- for the most part ;-), and seemingly never-ending support. At the end of the day this whole marriage thing is a celebration of love. It's about two consenting adults of sound mind deciding to join their lives together. Nothing else matters.
So once again, I thank you. Thank you for being in our lives. Thank you for sharing in our joys and our sorrows. Thank you for your wisdom. And thank you for reminding us that love conquers all."
